The seminars are expected to facilitate meaningful discussions on the community’s historical journey, language, literature, and social contributions.
Despite being a relatively small community in terms of population, the Bishnupriya Manipuri people have maintained a strong sense of cultural identity over generations. Their commitment to preserving their language, customs, and artistic traditions has helped sustain a unique cultural legacy that continues to enrich Tripura’s diverse social fabric.
The Bishnupriya Manipuri community, though linguistically distinct from the mainstream Meitei Manipuri population of Manipur, has coexisted peacefully with other communities in Tripura for centuries. This shared history of harmony and mutual respect has contributed significantly to the state’s multicultural character.
