Apart from Praja Bahadur Molsom Para, Karna Rampara, Datta Molsom Para, Mongkurui Para, Dagram Bari and other hamlets under Nonachhara ADC Village are reeling with viral fever and other such ailments. Many of the villagers are incapable of travelling to Teliamura and access medical treatment owing to financial constraints.
In Longtharai subdivision, prevalence of viral fever and malaria is posing a health threat. The situation is turning worse due to lack of adequate physicians. In several areas under the sub-division, resentment among the people is brewing due to non-availability of proper treatment in Health centers.
When contacted, Dr Rajib Debbarma of Chaumanu PHC said that initiatives had been made to deliver health care services to affected patients. It is learnt, at least 3-4 malaria patients from Thalchhara, Gobindabari and 23 Kilo areas visit Chaumanu PHC almost every day. There is a PHC in 23 Kilo area, however, patients are reluctant to go there and avail treatment for some unknown reasons.
