Grand Prana Pratishtha of Maa Chinmayi Soundarya Temple in Tripura draws RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and top leaders. Unique architecture, sacred rituals, and Adi Shankaracharya Jayanti mark a defining spiritual moment in Fakiramura, Mohanpur.

A major spiritual and cultural event is set to unfold in Tripura as a grand temple consecration ceremony draws national attention and prominent dignitaries to the state. The Prana Pratishtha and Kumbha Abhishekam of the Maa Chinmayi Soundarya Temple is being held at Fakiramura in Mohanpur on April 21, marking a significant milestone in the region’s religious and architectural landscape.

The ceremony has attracted several high-profile attendees, including Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat, who arrived in Agartala on Monday to participate in the sacred rituals. He is joined by Jishnu Dev Varma, Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, and Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, reflecting the national importance of the occasion.

The event coincides with the auspicious celebration of Adi Shankaracharya Jayanti, adding further spiritual significance. Organizers believe the alignment of the consecration ceremony with this sacred day enhances the divine essence of the rituals being performed.

According to Amit Rakshit, president of the Chinmaya Seva Trust under Chinmaya Mission International, the temple stands out as a rare architectural marvel dedicated to Goddess Tripura Sundari. The structure has been meticulously designed using 27 black stone pillars sourced from Tamil Nadu. Each pillar symbolizes one of the 27 Nakshatras in Hindu astrology, representing cosmic harmony and spiritual alignment.

One of the most striking features of the temple is its open-roof design, which symbolizes an uninterrupted connection between the devotee and the divine. At the sanctum, a towering 15-foot black stone idol of the goddess has been installed, radiating spiritual grandeur. Alongside it, a smaller idol modeled after the iconic Tripura Sundari Temple has been placed for daily worship rituals.

The temple complex also includes inscriptions of the revered Saundarya Lahari and other devotional scriptures, enriching the spiritual atmosphere and offering devotees a deeper connection to sacred texts. The rituals for the consecration are being conducted by specially selected priests from Nepal, chosen through a rigorous process to ensure authenticity and adherence to traditional practices.

As the rituals unfold, the event not only highlights religious devotion but also showcases Tripura’s growing prominence on the cultural and spiritual map of India.
