Delhi Speaker Vijender Gupta engages Viksit Bharat Yuva Sansad 2026 participants, boosting youth participation, democratic dialogue, and policy awareness under MY Bharat initiative, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for Viksit Bharat @2047.
Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta is set to interact with participants of the State Level Viksit Bharat Yuva Sansad (VBYP) 2026 on Monday. The event is being organised in collaboration with the My Bharat Portal under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
The interaction is part of the state-level round of VBYP 2026, an initiative aimed at encouraging young citizens to actively engage with legislative institutions and understand the nuances of governance. According to official sources, the session will take place in a conference room near the Chief Minister’s Office at the Delhi Assembly in the historic Old Secretariat.
The Viksit Bharat Yuva Sansad has emerged as a crucial platform for amplifying young voices and fostering meaningful discussions on national issues. It aligns with the broader vision of “Viksit Bharat @2047,” which seeks to transform India into a developed nation by its centenary of independence. The initiative allows students and youth participants to deliberate on policies, governance, and development strategies, thereby nurturing informed and responsible future leaders.
Officials highlighted that this edition of the youth parliament has been inspired by the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Notably, the programme is being conducted entirely offline to maximise participation and inclusivity under the MY Bharat initiative, marking a shift from earlier formats.
The Ministry stated that the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament represents a transformation from the traditional youth parliament model. It is designed to create a new generation of dynamic, solution-oriented, and policy-aware youth leaders capable of contributing meaningfully to national discourse.
The programme is being conducted in three stages—district, state, and national levels. District-level rounds are organised at designated nodes, while state-level sessions are being held across 17 State Assemblies and additional government institutions nationwide. These sessions are presided over by State Assembly Speakers, adding institutional significance to the discussions and bridging the gap between governance and youth engagement.
The themes of VBYP 2026 have been carefully curated to promote inclusive participation from diverse backgrounds. Participants from various states and Union Territories bring a wide spectrum of perspectives shaped by linguistic, cultural, and social diversity. This diversity enriches discussions and reflects the multifaceted nature of India’s youth.
Officials emphasised that platforms like the Viksit Bharat Yuva Sansad enable participants to engage directly with policymakers, develop critical thinking, and contribute ideas that can influence the country’s developmental trajectory. By fostering civic awareness and leadership skills, the initiative plays a vital role in preparing young Indians to take on future responsibilities in governance and nation-building.
