The Communist Party of India (CPI-M) marked the 107th anniversary of the November Revolution by holding events across Tripura.
In the capital city, state CPIM secretary Jitendra Choudhury hoisted the party flag and offered floral tributes to the portraits of prominent leftist revolutionaries at the Agartala Melarmath office.
The November Revolution, which occurred on November 7, 1917, in Russia and was headed by Bolshevik Party leader Vladimir Lenin, has considerable historical significance for inspiring socialist organisations worldwide.
Choudhury emphasised the continued relevance of the Soviet Union’s ideals in addressing issues of exploitation, oppression, and discrimination in today’s context, particularly under what he referred to as “dictatorial rule.”
Former Chief Minister and Politburo member Manik Sarkar, during the event at Agartala Town Hall, urged people to embrace Marxist and Leninist ideologies and intensify their efforts against critical state issues.
He also highlighted the importance of unity, ideological education, and the party’s connection with the public, especially in reaching out to the youth.
