Union Budget 2026-27 outlines a comprehensive roadmap for India’s holistic development, focusing on infrastructure, employment, digital transformation, agriculture, and MSMEs, aligning with the Viksit Bharat vision for inclusive and sustainable national growth.
Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Rajib Bhattacharjee on Sunday described the Union Budget 2026-27 as a transformative roadmap for India’s holistic development, stating that it goes far beyond fiscal calculations to outline a long-term national growth strategy aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat.
Speaking after witnessing the Budget presentation in Parliament, Bhattacharjee said the financial blueprint reflects the government’s commitment to inclusive growth, economic resilience, and sustainable development. He emphasized that the Budget focuses equally on infrastructure expansion, employment generation, digital innovation, agriculture, and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector.
“This Budget is not merely about numbers or annual allocations. It is about shaping the future of the nation. It charts a clear roadmap for a developed, self-reliant, and globally competitive India,” Bhattacharjee remarked.
According to the MP, the Budget 2026-27 strengthens India’s growth trajectory by addressing both urban and rural priorities. Large-scale investments in infrastructure are expected to boost connectivity, logistics efficiency, and industrial productivity, while targeted allocations for rural development aim to improve livelihoods and reduce regional disparities.
Bhattacharjee highlighted that job creation remains one of the core pillars of the Budget. He noted that employment-focused initiatives, skill development programs, and support for emerging sectors such as digital services and green technologies will provide new opportunities for youth and professionals across the country.
The MP also underscored the Budget’s emphasis on digital transformation, calling it a key driver of governance reforms and economic efficiency. Increased investments in digital infrastructure, financial technology, and e-governance are expected to improve service delivery, enhance transparency, and empower citizens through technology-driven solutions.
Agriculture, according to Bhattacharjee, continues to remain a priority sector in the Union Budget. He said that provisions aimed at improving farm productivity, irrigation facilities, market access, and income security for farmers demonstrate the government’s commitment to strengthening the rural economy.
Special attention to the MSME sector was another major highlight, Bhattacharjee said. He pointed out that easier access to credit, policy support, and technology integration will enable small and medium enterprises to expand operations, generate employment, and contribute more effectively to national economic growth.
Expressing pride in being part of the country’s development journey, Bhattacharjee said the Budget initiatives will accelerate India’s progress toward becoming a self-reliant economy with a stronger global footprint. He added that the emphasis on innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development reflects a forward-looking approach essential for long-term prosperity.
Economic observers have also noted that the Budget’s focus on employment generation, technology-driven reforms, and rural empowerment aligns with the government’s long-term objective of achieving Viksit Bharat by 2047. Analysts believe the policy direction outlined in the Budget could help India navigate global economic challenges while maintaining steady domestic growth.
