Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha declares BJP’s strong intention to contest all 28 seats in the upcoming TTAADC elections, signaling an aggressive political strategy while maintaining alliance ethics and accusing Tipra Motha Party of corruption and administrative mismanagement.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Saturday declared that the Bharatiya Janata Party is preparing to contest all 28 seats in the upcoming elections to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council, signaling the party’s intention to expand its influence in the tribal-dominated hill areas of the state.

Addressing a large joining programme at Dhumacherra in Dhalai district, the Chief Minister said the BJP respects alliance partners but remains determined to strengthen its own political and organisational base ahead of the crucial ADC polls.

During the event, party leaders announced that 587 voters joined the BJP, marking what they described as a significant political development in the region. Local BJP leaders said the influx of new members would help consolidate the party’s grassroots network in the tribal belt.

Speaking to party workers and supporters, Saha emphasized that the BJP has always upheld alliance ethics across the country but would not allow any partner to dominate its political space.

The BJP does not reject its alliance partners. However, our goal is to contest all 28 seats in the upcoming ADC elections. No one will have the opportunity to impose dominance over us,” Saha said.

He added that the party would decide strategically whether to accommodate alliance partners in specific seats, making it clear that the final decision would rest with the BJP leadership.

As partners, we may give them space if necessary, or we may not. That decision will depend on us,” the Chief Minister asserted, reinforcing the party’s firm stance ahead of the elections.

Strengthening Organisational Presence in Tribal Areas

The Chief Minister stressed that the BJP’s primary objective is to strengthen its organisational structure in the hill districts governed by the ADC. According to him, expanding the party’s base among tribal communities remains a top priority.

Political observers note that the ADC elections are crucial for the BJP, as the council governs significant administrative and developmental activities in tribal areas. Winning a majority of seats in the council could enhance the party’s influence in these regions.

Party leaders present at the event said the large-scale joining of voters reflects growing support for the BJP in the hills and indicates a possible shift in the political dynamics of the autonomous council area.

Allegations Against Tipra Motha Government

During his speech, Saha also targeted the Tipra Motha Party, which currently governs the ADC. He accused the party of corruption and administrative mismanagement within the council.

Loot and mismanagement are taking place in the ADC under the current rulers. For development and good governance, a BJP government is necessary,” the Chief Minister said.

The remarks underline the intensifying political contest between the BJP and Tipra Motha in the tribal belt ahead of the council elections.

Political Stakes Ahead of ADC Elections

The upcoming elections to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council are expected to be politically significant, as the council represents the interests of tribal communities and plays a key role in governance across nearly two-thirds of Tripura’s geographical area.

Analysts say the BJP’s announcement that it intends to contest all 28 seats could reshape alliance dynamics and intensify competition in the hill regions.
