BJP heavyweights of New Delhi discussed the Tripura matters in threadbare- with a focus on the ensuing assembly election- with the state leaders. A meeting was first held by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and J P Nadda and later one more meeting with the state leaders among themselves.
The meeting was attended by BJP national president JP Nadda, and party leaders from the state, including Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee, Union MoS Pratima Bhowmik, and Rajya Sabha MP and former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb.

The BJP seniors took stock of the political situation and party’s poll preparedness. Sources said, the meeting also discussed the emerging opposition unity in the state and as to how , if the opposition indeed goes for some sort of alliance, such joint move could be countered.
The state leaders while briefing the central leaders about the ground realities also stressed on the all out poll campaign with PM Modi , Union home Minister Amit Shah, party president JP Nadda and others addressing the rallies in the state, which the central leaders were reported to have agreed.
The BJP top brasses advised the state leaders to remain united and involve all their strength and resources to fight the elections. They cautioned the state leaders that any misgivings about ‘groupism’ or ‘differences of opinions’ in the public perception would seriously affect the party’s poll prospect.
