In an attempt to make the ensuing Durga Puja festival free and fair Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb sought support from the local clubs and puja organizers of the city. The Chief Minister in his interactions with the Puja organizers pointed out that like previous two years this time also due to Covid 19 pandemic absolute precautions should be put in place during the puja days and restrictions, norms as prescribed by the comptetent authorities shuld be strictly followed.
The meeting organized by West Tripura district administration was held at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan with participation of a good number of members including women from different clubs and puja committees.
The puja organizers were advised to keep a limited budget and not to create pressure on anybody for subscription.
In the meeting, Deb appreciated the role of various clubs, their members and social organizations during the Covid pandemic.
Meanwhile, the state government has already issued detailed guidelines for the upcoming festival season.
On the other hand, police chief V.S. Yadav said an elaborate security arrangement is being made to avoid any untoward incident during the festive days.
The Tripura Police, he said, would keep a close eye on the movement of the people apart from ransom checking. Besides, a good number of CCTVs would be installed in the important locations of the city and adjacent areas.
He made an appeal to the puja organizers to maintain the Covid protocols and other guidelines properly.
Principal Secretary (Health) J.K. Sinha, joint convener of Club Forum Pranab Sarkar, chairman Sanjay Paul, president Dipak Majumder and officers from police and administration were present in the meeting.
