India’s all-party delegation led by MP Kanimozhi concluded a productive visit to Slovenia, emphasizing zero tolerance against terrorism, Operation Sindoor’s impact, and India’s global anti-terror diplomacy while strengthening bilateral ties and securing international support.
Indian all-party parliamentary delegation, led by DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, concluded a “highly productive” and engaging multi-day visit to Slovenia, aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and consolidating international support for India’s firm stance against terrorism.
The delegation, which included parliamentarians from various political parties such as the BJP, Samajwadi Party, RJD, AAP, and senior diplomats, carried India’s unified message of “zero tolerance” towards terrorism, particularly in the wake of the recent Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 and the subsequent launch of Operation Sindoor.
The visit began with extensive discussions with Marjan Setinc, President of the Slovenian Association for International Relations (SDMO), and other key foreign policy experts. During this interaction, the Indian delegates emphasized the country’s commitment to rejecting all forms of terrorism and nuclear blackmail, particularly those emanating from Pakistan. The productive dialogue was instrumental in garnering appreciation for India’s “new normal” on cross-border terrorism.
In a post shared by the Embassy of India in Slovenia on X (formerly Twitter), the mission was described as a “useful and highly productive visit,” which allowed India to convey its principled stance effectively and gain further diplomatic goodwill. “Extensive engagements and effective public messaging garnered support & appreciation for India’s new normal of zero tolerance against cross-border terrorism,” the post noted.
The delegation, besides Kanimozhi, included BJP MP Captain Brijesh Chowta (Retd.), Samajwadi Party MP Rajeev Rai, RJD MP Prem Chand Gupta, AAP MP Ashok Kumar Mittal, and Ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri, a former Deputy Permanent Representative of India to the UN.
On the second day of their visit, the delegation met with Marko Lotric, President of the National Council of Slovenia. The Indian MPs reiterated the national consensus on zero tolerance against terrorism and elaborated on the implications of Operation Sindoor in strengthening national and global security. Appreciating Slovenia’s contributions as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), they praised the country’s clear and consistent condemnation of terrorism and its commitment to international peace.
“During our second day in Slovenia, we had a meaningful interaction with Marko Lotric. We reiterated India’s firm stance on zero tolerance towards terrorism and discussed the evolving global security framework post-Operation Sindoor. We also appreciated Slovenia’s significant contribution as a non-permanent member of the UNSC,” AAP MP Ashok Mittal posted on X.
Earlier, the delegation engaged in fruitful conversations with Predrag Bakovic, Chairperson of the Foreign Policy Committee of the National Assembly, and Miroslav Gregoric of the India-Slovenia Parliamentary Friendship Group. The discussions revolved around India’s national consensus on terrorism and Slovenia’s unwavering support, with the Slovenian side describing terrorism as “pure evil” that must be eradicated.
One of the key highlights of the visit was the meeting with Vojko Volk, State Secretary and National Coordinator for National and International Security in the Office of the Prime Minister of Slovenia. Here, India’s delegation elaborated on the “new normal” of zero tolerance for cross-border terrorism and acknowledged Slovenia’s strong condemnation of the Pahalgam terror attack and support for India’s actions.
Further extending their diplomatic outreach, the Indian MPs held a comprehensive interaction with members of the Slovenian media, including major newspapers and television networks. They emphasized the bipartisan nature of India’s fight against terrorism and the growing international recognition of India’s resolute posture.
In the concluding phase of the visit, the delegation attended a reception hosted by the Indian Ambassador to Slovenia, Amit Narang, where they interacted with government officials, academia, business leaders, think tanks, and prominent Indian diaspora members. These engagements helped foster mutual understanding and further strengthened India-Slovenia ties.

India’s all-party parliamentary mission clearly conveyed that when it comes to national security and the fight against terrorism, the country speaks in one voice. The engagements in Slovenia reflect growing international acknowledgment of India’s leadership role in counter-terrorism efforts and its call for a global consensus to eliminate terrorism in all its forms.
