Adivi Sesh calls Dacoit a modern Romeo and Juliet set in a realistic world, exploring love, revenge, and emotional complexity. The film highlights how unresolved relationships evolve, blending intense storytelling with a grounded cinematic narrative.

Actor Adivi Sesh has offered fresh insight into his latest film Dacoit, describing it as a “modern-day Romeo and Juliet” story grounded in realism rather than fantasy. The actor, known for his intense performances and gripping narratives, emphasized that the film goes beyond a conventional love story and delves into the emotional aftermath of relationships that never truly fade.

Speaking about the film, Sesh revealed that Dacoit revolves around two former lovers whose past continues to influence their present in unexpected and often painful ways. Unlike traditional romantic dramas, the story explores how unresolved emotions can evolve over time, transforming love into something far more layered—sometimes manifesting as longing, anger, or even revenge.

“For me, Dacoit is not just about conflict or revenge,” Sesh said. “At its core, it’s a love story. It’s our modern-day Romeo and Juliet, but set in a world that feels very real and grounded.” His comparison to Romeo and Juliet highlights the film’s emotional depth, but he clarified that it is not a direct retelling of the classic tragedy.

The actor, who also co-wrote the story, explained that what makes Dacoit unique is its portrayal of enduring love—not in an idealized or fairy-tale manner, but as a force that persists even after relationships break or change. According to Sesh, the film captures how love can transform over time, sometimes becoming a source of strength and sometimes turning into pain.

“These are two people who were once deeply in love, and life took them in different directions,” he said. “When they meet again, it’s not just about rekindling feelings—it’s about confronting everything that love has turned into over time.”

Sesh further noted that the idea of “eternal love” has always fascinated him, particularly in how it continues to shape individuals long after a relationship ends. “In Dacoit, love doesn’t disappear—it transforms. Sometimes into pain, sometimes into strength, and sometimes even into revenge,” he added.

The film marks the directorial debut of Shaneil Deo, who brings a fresh perspective to this emotionally complex narrative. The cast features an impressive lineup, including Mrunal Thakur, Anurag Kashyap, Prakash Raj, Sunil, Zayn Marie Khan, Atul Kulkarni, Kamakshi Bhaskarla, and Vaibhav Tatwawadi.

Sesh emphasized that the film’s connection to Romeo and Juliet lies in its emotional intensity rather than its plot. “We’re not retelling Romeo and Juliet. We’re taking the essence of that kind of love—intense, complicated, and enduring—and placing it in a world that audiences can connect with today,” he explained.
