ABVP Tripura has alleged major examination irregularities at Tripura University, citing technical failures, incorrect marksheets, and form submission problems, while warning of intensified protests if urgent corrective measures are not implemented immediately.
Concerns over examination management at Tripura University intensified on Thursday after leaders of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Tripura Pradesh, alleged serious administrative and technical irregularities affecting students across the state.
A delegation of the student organisation met the university’s Vice Chancellor (In-Charge) Prof. Shyamal Das, the Examination Controller, and other officials to discuss what it described as persistent failures in the university’s examination system. The delegation claimed that students from several degree colleges are struggling to complete examination form submissions because their results are not being reflected properly in the online system.
Speaking to media persons after the meeting, ABVP Tripura Pradesh Secretary Rabi Sankar Halder said many students are facing uncertainty even though only two days remain before the examination form submission deadline. According to him, the technical issue has disrupted academic procedures for a large number of students, while the university administration has allegedly failed to provide an effective and timely solution.
Halder further alleged that the university’s technical section is severely understaffed. He claimed that only one technical employee is currently handling the entire system, despite the requirement for at least five personnel to manage examination-related digital operations efficiently.
The student body also raised concerns regarding discrepancies in marksheets and examination records. According to ABVP leaders, several students who had appeared in examinations were allegedly marked absent in their results. In some other cases, students were reportedly shown as failed in subjects despite earlier corrections being made to their records.
The organisation held the university administration, including the Vice Chancellor (In-Charge) and Examination Controller, responsible for the alleged irregularities. ABVP leaders warned that if immediate corrective measures are not taken, the student body would intensify its agitation in the coming days.
They stated that continued negligence in handling examination-related matters could seriously impact the academic future and mental well-being of students. The delegation urged the university authorities to address all pending technical and administrative issues without delay to ensure transparency and smooth functioning of the examination system.
