The state government inaugurated the Online Pension Grievances Portal on Wednesday.. Pranajit Singha Roy, finance minister who launched the portal, emphasized the crucial role that pensioners play in shaping the state’s progress.
During the inauguration ceremony, Singha Roy announced the government’s commitment to transitioning to a completely paperless mode in the near future. Highlighting the government’s ongoing efforts to introduce reforms and enhance transparency in various sectors, he emphasized the importance of addressing both the advantages and disadvantages faced by pensioners. The finance minister also stressed the need to ensure a seamless pension process for the beneficiaries, including the spouses of deceased pensioners.
Singha Roy urged departments, pensioners, Accountant General (AG) offices, and bank authorities to actively participate in recording accurate information of pensioners in the newly launched portal. This step will facilitate streamlined communication and prompt resolution of pension-related issues.
Brijesh Pandey, Secretary of the Finance Department, emphasized that pension is the rightful entitlement of retired employees. He underscored the significance of simplifying the pension system to ensure a hassle-free experience for pensioners.
As part of the ceremony, the Finance Minister distributed the pension payment orders to the retired employees present, acknowledging their years of service and dedication. Additionally, Singha Roy unveiled two other online services—online pension proposal submission and online e-service book submission through the Human Resource Management System (HRMS).
The launch of the Online Pension Grievances Portal marks a significant step towards empowering pensioners and addressing their concerns effectively. By leveraging their experience and wisdom, the state government aims to foster a collaborative environment that respects the contributions of retirees and ensures their financial well-being.
On the first day of its launch, the portal received an overwhelming response, with 71 complaints registered in the Pensioners Court. This surge in grievances further highlights the importance of providing an efficient platform to address the concerns of pensioners promptly.
As the government continues its commitment to modernizing administrative processes and prioritizing the well-being of pensioners, it is anticipated that the Online Pension Grievances Portal will serve as an essential tool in ensuring a seamless and transparent pension system for all retirees in the state.
