Tripura CM Dr. Manik Saha conducted the 70th Mukhyamantri Samipeshu programme, addressed North Tripura citizens’ grievances, directed immediate action on welfare issues, and inaugurated the Yoddha Portal to strengthen citizen participation in reporting social problems and accessing government support.
Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to responsive governance and social welfare by virtually interacting with citizens of North Tripura district during the 70th edition of the Mukhyamantri Samipeshu programme. Held from the War Room of TIFT in Agartala, the programme enabled the Chief Minister to directly hear public grievances while participants joined virtually from the conference hall of the Kanchanpur Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s office.
During the programme, Dr. Saha interacted with 27 citizens from different parts of North Tripura who sought assistance on issues related to healthcare, pensions, housing, education, livelihood opportunities, and infrastructure. After listening to each grievance, the Chief Minister instructed the District Magistrate of North Tripura and concerned departmental officials to take immediate steps to ensure timely resolution.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Saha reiterated that the state government remains dedicated to ensuring the welfare of every section of society, particularly tribal communities, including the Reang community. He directed officials to ensure that government welfare and development schemes reach every eligible beneficiary, especially those residing in remote and inaccessible areas. Emphasising inclusive governance, he said no deserving citizen should be deprived of government assistance.
The Chief Minister described the Mukhyamantri Samipeshu initiative as an effective platform that has significantly strengthened direct communication between the government and the people. He said the programme reflects the government’s commitment to transparent, accountable, and citizen-centric administration by providing prompt solutions to public grievances.
Highlighting developments in the healthcare sector, Dr. Saha said Tripura’s medical infrastructure is being modernised to provide advanced healthcare services within the state. He informed that referral hospitals across Tripura would gradually introduce digital medical services to improve accessibility and efficiency, reducing the need for patients to travel outside the state for quality treatment.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister also virtually inaugurated the ‘Yoddha’ Portal, an innovative digital platform developed by the North Tripura District Administration to address pressing social issues through active citizen participation.
The portal allows citizens to confidentially report incidents related to child marriage, drug abuse, domestic violence, child labour, and other social concerns while protecting their identities. Individuals struggling with drug addiction can also seek confidential counselling and medical assistance through the platform. Additionally, citizens interested in social service initiatives, including voluntary blood donation and other welfare activities, can register and actively contribute to community development.

Praising the initiative, Dr. Saha said the Yoddha Portal represents an important step toward creating a socially responsible and vigilant society. He expressed confidence that if the platform proves successful in North Tripura, similar portals could be introduced across other districts of the state.
Among those who sought assistance during the programme were residents requesting financial aid for medical treatment, Divyang pensions, widow pensions, old-age pensions, housing assistance, educational support, employment opportunities, and better road connectivity. Several citizens also appealed for treatment of serious illnesses and support for alternative livelihood opportunities.
After hearing every representation, the Chief Minister directed the District Magistrate, Health Department, Social Welfare Department, and other concerned authorities to ensure immediate processing of eligible benefits and necessary medical care. He also instructed officials to address issues relating to connectivity, housing, education, and employment without unnecessary delay.
Senior officials, including Chief Minister’s Secretary P. K. Chakraborty, Health Secretary Kiran Gitte, Additional Secretary of the Social Welfare and Social Education Department Tapan Kumar Das, Health Director Dr. Debashree Debbarma, Medical Superintendent of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Regional Hospital Dr. Shiromani Debbarma, and other departmental officers attended the programme from Agartala. North Tripura District Magistrate Chandani Chandran and district-level officials joined virtually from Kanchanpur.
