A seven-day National Service Scheme (NSS) Special Camp was inaugurated on Thursday at Khudiram Bose English Medium School on Jail Road in Agartala, with Tripura BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee attending the opening ceremony as the chief guest.
Organized by the school’s NSS Unit, the special camp has been launched under the theme “Youth for My Bharat & Youth for Digital Literacy,” aiming to encourage students to actively participate in social service, community welfare, and digital awareness initiatives. The programme is expected to provide young volunteers with practical exposure to civic engagement while strengthening their understanding of social responsibility in a rapidly changing digital era.
Addressing reporters after the inauguration ceremony, Bhattacharjee said the initiative would motivate students to play a constructive role in society by embracing the values of volunteerism, discipline, and self-reliance. He expressed confidence that the camp would help shape a generation of socially conscious youth capable of contributing positively to the nation’s development.
“This special effort will inspire students to build a better and self-reliant India through social responsibility, voluntary service, and digital literacy,” Bhattacharjee stated while interacting with participants and organizers during the event.

The Rajya Sabha MP also congratulated the student volunteers taking part in the seven-day programme. He praised their dedication, enthusiasm, and service-oriented mindset, describing such qualities as essential for building a stronger and more responsible society in the future. According to him, youth participation in community-based initiatives can significantly strengthen awareness about social welfare, education, environmental protection, and public responsibility.
Organizers of the camp informed that a series of educational and awareness-driven activities have been planned throughout the week. The programme will include sessions on digital literacy, environmental responsibility, health awareness, cleanliness drives, and community service activities. Students participating in the camp will also engage in practical social outreach programmes designed to enhance leadership qualities, teamwork, and communication skills.
The NSS Unit emphasized that the camp is not only intended to promote volunteerism among students but also to prepare them for the challenges and opportunities of a digitally connected world. Special focus has been placed on educating participants about responsible digital practices, online awareness, and the role of technology in nation-building.
Teachers, NSS coordinators, students, and local community members attended the inauguration ceremony and welcomed the initiative as a meaningful step toward youth empowerment and social development.
