Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha urged citizens to trust government healthcare facilities, highlighting advanced treatment infrastructure, affordable medical services, and direct public grievance support under the Mukhyamantri Samipeshu programme across the state.
Healthcare accessibility and affordable treatment remained the focus of Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha’s public interaction programme on Wednesday, where he appealed to residents to place confidence in government medical institutions instead of spending large amounts on treatment outside the state.
Speaking during the 65th edition of the “Mukhyamantri Samipeshu” programme held at his official residence, the Chief Minister said the state government is continuously strengthening healthcare services to ensure quality treatment is available within Tripura itself. He emphasized that the government’s primary goal is to reduce the financial burden on ordinary families by improving medical facilities in referral hospitals and expanding advanced treatment capabilities.
Dr. Saha stated that the healthcare sector in Tripura has witnessed major improvements in recent years, allowing patients to receive specialized treatment locally. He noted that complex medical procedures, including kidney transplants, are now being conducted successfully in the state, reducing the need for patients to travel to metropolitan cities for treatment.
The Chief Minister urged citizens to avoid unnecessary expenditure in private hospitals outside Tripura when advanced care is increasingly becoming available in government institutions. According to him, strengthening public healthcare infrastructure remains one of the government’s top priorities, and several initiatives are being implemented to improve patient care, medical equipment, and specialist services.
During the interaction programme, several citizens from different districts approached the Chief Minister seeking urgent medical assistance for themselves or their family members. Dr. Saha personally listened to each grievance and directed concerned officials to ensure immediate action.

Among those seeking support was Kanika Sarkar Biswas from Lembuchhara in Mohanpur subdivision, who requested assistance for her daughter’s complicated heart-related treatment. Another applicant, Namita Debnath, a Class 10 student from Nutannagar, sought help regarding her father’s kidney treatment. After hearing their concerns, the Chief Minister instructed officials to arrange advanced medical care without delay.
Similar requests came from Roson Sinha of Ishakpur in Kailashahar, Paresh Chandra Reang from Kula in Dhalai district, and Manasi Debbarma from Borkathal in Mohanpur. All of them appealed for assistance regarding critical medical treatment. Dr. Saha directed healthcare officials to ensure timely treatment and provide free medicines wherever necessary.
Several other individuals also raised medical and welfare-related concerns during the programme. Shyamal Chowdhury from Bardowali, college student Payel Dhar from Dukli block, and Liton Saha from Ranirbazar sought help regarding healthcare and related support issues. The Chief Minister assured them that the administration would take the necessary steps to address their problems.
Apart from healthcare-related appeals, Madhab Ranjan Deb from Gorkhabasti highlighted a housing issue during the session. Responding to the concern, Dr. Saha assured that appropriate action would be taken through the relevant departments.
Senior government officials, including Secretary Kiran Gitte, Apurba Roy, and representatives from the healthcare department, were present during the programme and coordinated with the administration to ensure swift follow-up measures.
The “Mukhyamantri Samipeshu” initiative has emerged as a significant platform connecting citizens directly with the state government. Through the programme, people from various parts of Tripura are able to present grievances and seek immediate administrative intervention. The initiative has particularly benefited economically weaker families requiring urgent medical support and treatment assistance.
