In Tamil Nadu, party leaders are crisscrossing the State to garner votes for their candidates. People are gathering in large numbers for every campaign, unmindful of the simmering heat of summer. Evening roadshows and public meetings are also nothing short of the celebration of democracy. Parties continue to thrill people with new accusations and counter accusations.
Election officials are assessing the expenditure of each of the contestants. AIADMK led NDA has union ministers campaigning for them. DMK led alliance partners appear together in roadshows and public meetings. BJP leaders have been constantly reminding that the Union Government had been supporting the people of Tamil Nadu by implementing major schemes for improving infrastructure, subsidized loans for all sections of the society to make them economically strong.
The DMK-led alliance has been accusing the BJP for not sharing the revenue and giving a lesser importance to non-BJP governments. They have also accused the AIADMK for not standing upto the rights of the State. Actor Vijay and Actor Seeman have been accusing both the AIADMK and DMK for not working for the development of the State. Sasikala, the leader of All India Puratchi Thalaivar Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam In her campaigning said that the Palanisamy-led AIADMK will not stand up for the principles of Jayalalithaa. Her alliance has fielded former AIADMK Ministers in her party against the AIADMK.
