Tripura CM Dr. Manik Saha launches the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign from Ujjayanta Palace, urging citizens to honour the national flag and celebrate patriotism through rallies, exhibitions, concerts and other programmes across the state from August 9 to 17.

The Har Ghar Tiranga campaign has now evolved into a massive people’s movement across the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the nationwide initiative in 2022 as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Within a short span of time, the campaign has instilled a deep sense of respect for the national flag, patriotism, and national pride among citizens. To strengthen the spirit of nationalism, the campaign is being observed in Tripura along with the rest of the country.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said this while inaugurating the Har Ghar Tiranga Rally from the Ujjayanta Palace premises today. The rally commenced from Ujjayanta Palace, passed through the city’s main roads, and concluded at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, where a Tiranga Exhibition and Tiranga Concert were organized.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that the national flag is not merely a piece of cloth or a combination of colours. The Tiranga symbolizes India’s freedom, strength, peace, and progress. The saffron colour represents sacrifice, white stands for truth, and green signifies growth and prosperity. The Ashoka Chakra at the centre of the flag inspires citizens to move forward continuously.

The Chief Minister further stated that the fifth edition of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign is being celebrated across the country from August 9 to August 17 through various programmes. These include Tiranga rallies, exhibitions, concerts, bike and cycle rallies at district, block, and panchayat levels, tricolour illuminations, rangoli competitions, and selfie campaigns with the national flag. This year’s celebrations have been dedicated to the 150th birth anniversary of Vande Mataram, India’s national song. He appealed to people from all walks of life in the state to actively participate in this national campaign.
