Bhaskar Ghosh of Tripura selected as Northeast contingent leader for Republic Day Parade Camp 2026 in New Delhi, marking a proud moment for NSS, Gandacherra, and the entire region’s youth leadership and national representation.

Bhaskar Ghosh, a respected educator and committed National Service Scheme (NSS) leader from Tripura’s Dhalai district, has been selected as the Contingent Leader of the Northeast region for the prestigious Republic Day Parade (RDP) Camp 2026 in New Delhi. His selection marks a moment of pride not only for Tripura but also for the entire Northeast, highlighting the region’s growing contribution to national youth development initiatives.

Currently serving as the NSS Programme Officer and a Sociology teacher at Gandacherra Class XII School, Ghosh will lead the Northeast contingent at the national-level Republic Day Parade Camp scheduled to be held from January 1 to January 31, 2026. The camp will bring together some of the most dedicated and high-performing NSS volunteers from across India, offering them exposure to national integration activities, leadership training, and ceremonial responsibilities linked to Republic Day celebrations.

After nearly two decades, Tripura has once again been entrusted with the responsibility of providing a contingent leader for this prestigious national event. The announcement has generated widespread enthusiasm among NSS volunteers, educationists, and government officials across the state, who see the selection as recognition of Tripura’s consistent efforts in youth engagement and social service.

The Northeast contingent will consist of 18 selected NSS volunteers drawn from different states of the region. Among them, two volunteers will represent Tripura: Deep Sutradhar from Ramthakur College and Sumi Roy from Sachin Dev Barman Memorial Government Music College. Under Ghosh’s leadership, the team will represent the Northeast during the ceremonial parade at Kartavya Path, New Delhi, on Republic Day 2026.

Hailing from the Gonda Tuisa area of Dhalai district, Bhaskar Ghosh is widely known for his strong leadership qualities, discipline, and unwavering commitment to the ideals of the NSS. Over the years, he has successfully led Tripura’s contingents at several inter-state and national NSS camps held in Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim, where the teams earned the Best Team Award. His performance and organizational skills were also highly appreciated during the Pre-Republic Day Parade Camp 2025 held in West Bengal.

In recognition of his outstanding contribution to youth development and social service, Ghosh was conferred with the State-Level Best NSS Programme Officer Award 2024 by Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha. This latest national responsibility further strengthens his reputation as one of the leading NSS mentors in the region.
