J&K Police dismantled a major inter-state terror network linked to JeM and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, uncovering 2,900 kg of explosives from a Faridabad house. Seven suspects, including two doctors and an Imam, were arrested in a coordinated multi-state operation.
In one of the biggest counter-terror breakthroughs of the year, the Jammu and Kashmir Police, in coordination with Haryana and Uttar Pradesh Police, have uncovered a massive terror network operating across states. The operation led to the recovery of 2,900 kilograms of explosives from a house in Faridabad, Haryana, and the arrest of seven suspects, including two doctors and a mosque Imam, police said on Monday.
The dismantled network is reportedly linked to two major terror outfits—Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, both with known cross-border links. The seized materials include two assault rifles, two pistols, timers, electronic circuits, batteries, metal fragments, and a massive stockpile of explosive chemicals capable of producing multiple improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Trigger for the Crackdown
The investigation was set in motion after Jaish-e-Mohammad posters appeared across Bunpora Nowgam in Srinagar on October 19, threatening police and security forces. Acting swiftly, J&K Police traced digital and physical clues that led them to a web of radicalized individuals operating not only in Kashmir but also in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
According to senior police officials, the module was deeply involved in “radicalising, recruiting, and funding individuals for terrorist activities, as well as arranging logistics and acquiring weapons and explosives.”

Arrests Across States
Seven individuals have been arrested so far following extensive raids and intelligence-led searches. The arrested operatives have been identified as:
-
Arif Nisar Dar alias Sahil, resident of Nowgam, Srinagar
-
Yasir-ul-Ashraf, resident of Nowgam, Srinagar
-
Maqsood Ahmad Dar alias Shahid, resident of Nowgam, Srinagar
-
Molvi Irfan Ahmad, Imam of a mosque in

Zameer Ahmad Ahanger alias Mutlasha, resident of Wakura, Ganderbal
-
Dr. Muzammil Ahmad Ganaie alias Musaib, resident of Koil, Pulwama
-
Dr. Adeel, resident of Wanpora, Kulgam
“These arrests represent a major blow to the terror ecosystem operating in the Valley and beyond,” said a senior J&K Police officer. “More individuals connected to the network have been identified, and efforts are underway to track and apprehend them.”
Explosive Cache and Weapons Recovered
During the multi-state operation, the police discovered a terror safe house in Faridabad, believed to have been used for storing and assembling IEDs and arms. The recovery included:
-
2,900 kg of explosive and IED-making material
-
Two AK-series rifles (AK-56 and AK Krinkov) with ammunition
-
Two pistols – a Chinese Star and a Beretta – with ammunition
-
Electronic circuits, timers, remote controls, wires, batteries, and chemicals used for triggering explosive devices
Police said the scale of the explosive cache suggested plans for a major terror strike, which has now been successfully foiled.
Financial and Cross-Border Links Under Probe
Authorities have launched a detailed financial investigation to trace the flow of funds that supported the module’s operations. Initial findings indicate cross-border linkages, with funding and coordination possibly originating from across the Line of Control (LoC).
“All angles of funding, supply, and coordination are being investigated. The priority is to uncover the full network that facilitated such large-scale procurement of explosive materials,” the police said in an official statement.
Major Counter-Terror Success
Security officials described the operation as one of the year’s biggest counter-terror achievements. The discovery of nearly three tonnes of explosive material in the National Capital Region underscores the growing reach of terror networks and the critical importance of coordinated intelligence operations.
“The sheer magnitude of the seizure highlights the magnitude of the threat that has been neutralized. This was likely intended for a high-casualty attack, which our joint forces have successfully prevented,” said a senior officer familiar with the investigation.
The J&K Police reaffirmed their commitment to dismantling terror networks that attempt to disrupt peace in the Union Territory and elsewhere in the country. “We remain steadfast in stamping out the scourge of terrorism and ensuring security and stability in the region,” the official added.
