Stage set for polling in second and final phase of Bihar Assembly elections tomorrow

In Bihar, the stage is set for voting in the second and final phase of the Assembly elections tomorrow. 122 constituencies spread across 20 districts will go to the polls in this phase. 
 
 
Voting in this phase will take place in constituencies located along the Indo-Nepal border and in the regions of Seemanchal, Tirhut, Magadh, Shahabad, Kosi, and Mithilanchal.
 
 
Polling will also be held in the districts of East and West Champaran, Madhubani, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Purnea, and Katihar, as well as in Bhagalpur and Banka. Voting will also be conducted in Gaya, Aurangabad, Jehanabad, Arwal, Jamui, Nawada, Rohtas, and Kaimur districts.
 
 
Polling will begin from 7 am and will continue till 6 in the evening. However, due to security reasons, polling in seven assembly constituencies, including Chainpur, Govindpur, Rajauli, Jamui, Sikandra, Chakai, and Jhajha, will conclude at 5 PM. In addition, polling will also conclude at 5 pm at 1202 polling booths located in certain areas of Gaya, Aurangabad, Banka, and Rohtas districts.
 
 
Around three crore seventy lakh eligible voters will decide the fate of one thousand three hundred and two candidates, including 136 women. In most constituencies, there is a direct contest between the NDA and Mahagathbandhan candidates.
 
 
In the second phase, from the NDA side BJP has fielded 53 candidates, followed by 44 of JD(U). NDA member LJP ( R) is contesting on 15 seats, Hindustani Awam Morcha has given tickets to six candidates, whereas Rashtriya Lok Morcha is contesting on four seats.
 
 
From the Mahagathbandh, 71 candidates of RJD are in fray, followed by 37 nominees of Congress.
 
 
The Vikas Sheel Insaan Party, led by Mukesh Sahani, is contesting on eight seats, and CPI-ML is fighting on six seats. Four seats are being contested by CPI and one by CPM.
