India wins 1-2 finish in 10m air pistol mixed team

India claimed a 1-2 finish in the 10m air pistol mixed team junior event, while Italy celebrated a golden double in the Skeet competitions on Day 3 of the ISSF Junior World Cup Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun in New Delhi yesterday.
 
 
The competition concluded at the Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range with India still leading the medal tally.
 
 
Kapil and Rashmika Sahgal defeated compatriots Jonathan Gavin Antony and Vanshika Chaudhary 16-10 in the 10m air pistol mixed team gold medal match to win India’s third gold of the competition.
 
Later, Marco Coco and Arianna Nember of Italy claimed top honours in the junior men’s and women’s skeet finals, respectively.
 
 
In the mixed team pistol, Spain’s Ines Castro Ortega and Lucas Sanchez Tome secured the bronze with a narrow 16-14 win over Iran’s Parimah Amiri and Mohammadreza Ahmadi in mixed air pistol.
 
 
Italy’s success in Skeet was led by Marco Coco, who carried his qualification form (122) into the junior men’s final, shooting 56 hits from 60 targets to win gold. Finland’s Lassi Akseli Matias Kauppinen claimed silver with 53 hits, while Cyprus’s Andreas Pontikis took bronze with 43 hits.
 
 
India’s Harmehar Singh Lally (35 hits) and Atul Singh Rajawat (25 hits) were eliminated in fourth and fifth place, respectively, while the Netherlands’ Ryan Kooijman finished sixth with 14.
 
 
In the women’s Skeet final, World Championship silver medallist Arianna Nember of Italy produced a stellar performance, hitting 53 targets to secure gold.
 
 
India’s Olympian Raiza Dhillon finished with 51 hits to win silver, while reigning Asian champion Mansi Raghuwanshi added bronze with 41 hits. Mansi had earlier topped the qualification round with 117 hits.
 
 
USA’s 14-year-old Chloe Chaleunsinh finished fourth with 32 hits, Individual Neutral Athlete Kseniia Shuliak was fifth with 22, and India’s Agrima Kanwar completed the final lineup with 13.
 
 
The ISSF Junior World Cup kicked off in New Delhi on 24 September and the main event started from 25 September 2025.
 
 
The competition will be held till 2nd of next month. The event will feature shooting competitions in the Under-21 age category across rifle, pistol and shotgun disciplines. It will feature 208 shooters from 19 federations. 
 
 
This is the 11th edition of the event and the first to be held in India. Players from US, Italy, Czechia, Iran, Croatia, Great Britain, UAE, Slovakia, Qatar, Spain, and New Zealand, along with 40 Individual Neutral Athletes, are participating in the competition.
