Sindhi activist Shafi Burfat condemned Pakistan as an “artificial, fascist, and fraudulent” state, accusing its military of corruption, extremism, and terrorism. He urged the global community to recognise Pakistan as a hub of oppression and terrorism while calling for the liberation of Sindh and other historic nations for regional stability.

A leading Sindhi rights activist has launched a scathing attack on Pakistan, branding it an “artificial, fascist, and fraudulent” state created by British imperialism during the partition of India. Highlighting religious extremism, systemic corruption, and military dominance, Shafi Burfat, Chairman of Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz (JSMM), accused Pakistan of being a prison for historic nations and a hub of international terrorism.

In a strongly worded post on X, Burfat stated, “Built upon deception, coercion, and religious manipulation, Pakistan was imposed upon historic nations against their will. Since its inception, it has functioned as a prison-house of nations, safeguarding primarily the political and economic interests of Punjabi imperialism. Within this state, historic nations—Sindhis, Baloch, Pashtuns, Brahui, Saraiki, and others—have been reduced to slavery.”

According to him, Pakistan’s creation was never based on democracy, justice, or morality but on military domination and religious extremism. Burfat alleged that the country’s natural resources—oil, gas, coal, rivers, seas, and industries—are plundered systematically to feed the economic and political dominance of Punjab, leaving other provinces impoverished and exploited.

Military’s Grip and Corruption

Burfat further accused the Pakistani military of being not a professional defense institution but a corrupt mafia involved in smuggling, narcotics, and other illicit activities. He claimed that Pakistan’s army had long collaborated with global drug cartels in trafficking heroin from Afghanistan to international markets, including the United States. Similarly, oil smuggling from Iran, he alleged, is orchestrated and controlled through army-backed networks.

He described the army as a parasitic force, thriving on plunder while acting as “hired killers” for global powers. “Every sphere of society, economy, media, judiciary, education, and freedom of expression is suffocated under the boots of the army,” Burfat said, adding that liberal, secular, and democratic voices in Pakistan are suppressed while extremist religious groups enjoy open patronage from the state.

Factory of Extremism and Terrorism

The JSMM leader also drew attention to Pakistan’s role as a breeding ground of extremism and terrorism. He alleged that the Pakistani state has deliberately nurtured religious fanaticism as a weapon of war and influence in the region. According to him, countless international and regional terrorist groups have been sheltered, trained, armed, and supported by the Pakistani military establishment.

“This terrorism not only destabilised Sindh, Baloch, and Pashtun areas but also poses a grave threat to global peace and security. The entire world is aware of Pakistan’s policy of manufacturing, sponsoring, and exporting terrorism,” Burfat asserted.

He described Pakistan as a Punjabi colonial state, sustained by plunder, violence, and terror, and responsible for the political subjugation, economic exploitation, and cultural destruction of historic nations.

Call for Global Recognition of Oppression

Burfat urged the international community, the United Nations, democratic institutions, and global intellectuals to acknowledge Pakistan’s true nature as an unnatural and extremist state. He warned that the continued survival of Pakistan as it exists today would mean further regional instability and international terrorism.

“The liberation of Sindh and other historic nations is not only a question of justice and human rights but is vital for sustainable peace and stability in South Asia and the world,” Burfat concluded.

His remarks underline the deep resentment among Sindhi, Baloch, Pashtun, and other marginalized groups in Pakistan, who accuse the state of systemic oppression and exploitation. As the debate over Pakistan’s internal governance and its role in global terrorism intensifies, such statements are likely to add to the international scrutiny of Islamabad’s policies.
