On the first day of the session the opposition CPM staged a walk out from the assembly following brief arguments in the wake of Speaker Ratan Chakrabarty’s rejection of an adjournment motion soon after the commencement of two-day session on Friday.

 The opposition allowed Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha’s speech butr soon after CPM MLA Tapan Chakraborty raised the adjournment motion in reference to police’s action during a protest by Left student and youth’ bodies on September 15 last. Speaker Ratan Chakraborty turned down the adjournment motion and then the CPM MLAs trooped to the well and then staged the walk out.

 Opposition Leader Manik Sarkar who spoke to the media persons in the assembly later said, the notice was all about the incident of September 15 last where police had applied brutal force during a protest rally of SFI, DYFI, TSU and TYF in Agartala. The Left bodies were on their way to submit deputation to the Chief Minister on  three demands– education for all, work for all and violence-free Tripura.

 In the meantime, in the House Transport minister Pranajit Singha Roy said that the Centre had SpiceJet on September 19 last allowed – SpiceJet for operating international flights in the proposed Agartala Chittagong route from MBB Airport , Agartala. The Minister informed the assembly that very soon the international flight would start from MBB airport.

Singha Roy said,the state government had already approved Viable Gap Funding (VGF) of Rs. 15 crore for the service.

Apart from that the minister told the House that survey for double-lane rail track from Agartala to Dharmanagar had already been completed. Besides, he said, works for nine national highways are also underway in the state while four more national highways have been sanctioned.

Not only that Singha Roy said, all efforts were put in place for extension of waterway from Melaghar to Udaipur via Kakraban and opening of Kailashahar airport.tr
