Must Read

External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar stated that the relationship between India and New Zealand is expanding across various sectors. He made these remarks yesterday during a meeting with New Zealand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Winston Peters, in New Delhi. Dr Jaishankar highlighted the success of New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon’s recent visit to India, during which both nations initiated Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations and signed several agreements. He emphasised that the current focus for both countries is to work towards realising the goals outlined during that visit.

Earlier, Mr Peters arrived in New Delhi yesterday on a two-day official visit. Welcoming him, in a social media post, Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that the visit reflects the momentum of high-level exchanges between India and New Zealand. He said that the visit will further strengthen the warm and friendly ties between the two countries. Mr Peters will also meet Minister of Health and Family Welfare J.P. Nadda during his visit.

Following his meeting with Mr Peters, in a social media post, Dr. S. Jaishankar expressed gratitude to New Zealand for its support and solidarity on the Pahalgam terrorist attack. He said, both sides took stock of the progress made in their partnership. Dr Jaishankar added that, in a more volatile and uncertain world, India and New Zealand agreed to collaborate closely for a rules-based, peaceful, stable and prosperous Indo-Pacific region.
