In a special briefing on Operation Sindoor, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh elaborated on the details of the actions taken by the Armed Forces. She informed that the Pakistan army has been observed moving its troops towards forward areas, indicating an offensive intent to further escalate the situation.

She asserted that the Indian Armed Forces are in a state of operational readiness and all hostile actions have been effectively countered. She said radar sites in Pasur and Sialkot aviation base were also targeted. She added that the Indian Armed Forces carried out precision attack only at identified military targets in response to Pakistan’s action.

Colonel Sofiya Qureshi informed that the Pakistani army is continuously attacking the western borders by using drones, long-range weapons, loitering munitions and fighter jets. She said, India effectively neutralised the attacks.

She added that the Pakistani side tried to infiltrate through air at more than 26 places from Srinagar to Chhaliya, and they damaged the country’s equipment and personnel at air force bases in Udhampur, Bhuj, Pathankot, Bathinda. Colonel Qureshi added that Pakistan used high-speed missiles to target Punjab’s air base last night and they even attacked health facilities and schools in Srinagar, Avantipur and Udhampur. She said, Indian armed forces are committed to non-escalation, provided the Pakistan side reciprocates.

Pakistan military bases at Rafiqui, Murid, Chaklala, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur and Chunian were targeted through air launch, precision ammunition and fighter jets. A radar site in Pasrur and an aviation base in Sialkot were also targeted with precision ammunition. During these actions, India ensured minimum collateral damage and losses,” Wing Commander Vyomika Singh told the Press.

Wing Commander Vyomika Singh also pointed towards the malicious misinformation campaign of Pakistani side that they destroyed the Indian S-400 system, and damaged airfields at Suratgarh and Sirsa. She unequivocally rejected these false claims being spread by Pakistan. During the press conference, India also released time-stamped images showing its air bases unharmed to counter Pakistan’s propaganda. The Pakistan government had claimed air bases at Sirsa and Suratgarh were targeted by their weapons system.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said, it is a Pakistani act that constituted provocation and escalation and in response to Pakistani actions, India responded in a measured way. The Foreign Secretary emphasised that Pakistan continues with its execrable and wanton campaign of targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure, especially in the states of Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab. Misri also rejected Pakistan’s claims of missile strikes on religious sites, terming it baseless.

He also said that Pakistan is making frivolous allegations that Indian missiles have hit Afghanistan. He said, Afghan people do not need to be reminded and they are fully aware of which country targeted civilians and the country’s infrastructure. Misri said that Pakistani officials also continue to make ludicrous claims about India firing missiles towards Shri Amritsar Sahib, as these lame attempts to divide India are doomed to failure.

In the special briefing the Centre condemned Pakistan’s provocative actions, accusing it of deliberately escalating tensions by repeatedly targeting both military and civilian infrastructure in India. The briefing also criticized Pakistan’s state-sponsored propaganda efforts, which were seen as an attempt to spread falsehoods. The Indian military, however, remained vigilant and successfully countered Pakistan’s hostile moves.

The briefing team unanimously blamed Pakistan for the escalation, emphasizing that India responded in a measured and precise manner to eliminate terror hubs, while Pakistan intentionally targeted civilian and military sites on Indian soil. The team also reported that Pakistani forces targeted health facilities and school premises during the previous night’s hostilities.

Vikram Misri also addressed Pakistan’s dissemination of false information, labeling it a state-backed propaganda effort and urging the public not to believe such fabrications. One of Pakistan’s claims—alleging the destruction of an Indian S-400 system and airfields in Sirsa and Surat—was categorically dismissed as false and part of Pakistan’s propaganda campaign.

Colonel Qureshi reported that India’s air defence systems successfully intercepted several projectiles fired by Pakistan, while also noting Pakistan’s attempts to breach Indian airspace at over 26 locations, aiming to attack military bases in Udhampur, Bhuj, Pathankot, and Bathinda. Most of these attempts were effectively neutralized.

In a separate incident, Pakistan launched armed drones from its territory over Khasa Cantt in Amritsar at around 5 am. These hostile UAVs were promptly engaged and destroyed by Indian air defence units. Condemning the incident, the Indian Army declared Pakistan’s actions as unacceptable, reaffirming its commitment to safeguard India’s sovereignty and protect civilians.

Responding to another provocation, the Border Security Force (BSF) destroyed a Pakistani post and a terrorist launch pad in Looni, District Sialkot, opposite the Akhnoor area, from where tube drones had been launched towards India. On the night of May 9, Pakistan initiated unprovoked firing on BSF posts in the Jammu Sector. The BSF retaliated firmly, inflicting substantial damage on the Pakistan Rangers’ assets along the International Boundary. The destroyed terrorist launch pad at Looni was identified as a key site from which drone attacks were being orchestrated.

In a statement, the BSF reiterated its unwavering commitment to protecting India’s sovereignty, declaring that any attempts to violate the nation’s security would be met with a resolute response.
