The social media is flooded with several messages as we go through the daughters’ week. There are several messages ‘A daughter is not a tension, but equal to ten sons.’

Definitely we need to celebrate daughters’ week as the ratio between son and daughters are constantly getting decreased, and in some states like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh the rate is decreasing alarmingly. But who stands behind all daughters as the strongest pillar is our father. The father is the biggest strength of a daughter and everyone realises it after some time. The father stands firmly behind his daughter, and the whole family.

It is very often a common complain from the mother –

‘You are the one who is pampering the daughter’, ya rightly said but a small correction to mama– My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person- he believed in me. (Jim Valvano).

My Parents Essay For Class 1 - Short Essay On Parents For Kids

I am the first child, a daughter of my father.

As I grew up I learnt a punch line from a popular advt- My father strongest. As I went on growing up, I repeated the same. And I realized the same. He is a strongest person I have ever met. I share a very unique relationship with my father. I laugh and cry with him, I play with him. I learnt cycling, boxing and swimming with him. He took several rounds of the Vivekananda Stadium as I was cycling just to persuade me to continue cycling and that I do not fear from fall. As I screamed with fear, he helped me to wane out the water phobia in the Umakanta Swimming pool.

My Mom taught me the fist letter, my kindergarten teacher taught me to write  sentence, and my school gave me education. But my dad taught me how to implement it. The real education in life. He gave me knowledge and explained me the real meaning of education. As a teenager he gave me the strength to become fearless-

Any time is distress or tension ‘don’t worry beta, I am with you and everything will be fine’. He taught me to value myself.

They told me the road was slippery….

‘Turn around’

But he asked me to venture……..

They told it was dark outside ’

‘Come back’

But asked me to take a lamp with me ……..

They told me I was alone …

‘You may have to regret later’

But he asked me to judge things for myself……

They told me I was new to it…..

‘You need to gain expertise’

But Dad assured me I was wise….

They cried, showed their tears…..

‘You are hurting us all’

But he held his emotions and smiled calmly……

He is my constant support

My source of strength and confidence

My father…. (collected).

P V Ramanna, a former international volleyball player said- She is my lovely daughter—I will go to any extent for my daughter- Do you know who the daughter is. She is the first Indian women to win two Olympic medals- P V Sindhu.

Mr Garrison Keiler ( story teller, humorist, voice actor and radio personality) once said; A father sometimes turn stony to his son, berates them, snorts the ground, runs them off into the underbrush. But when his daughter puts her arms around his shoulder and say- ‘daddy I need to say you something, he is a pat of butter in a hot frying pan.

A daughter also follows the footsteps of her father, however tough it may. Mr Keshava Pillai, served in elite Assam Rifles. He died 13 years ago. Growing up Athira K. Pillai, dreamt of following her fathers’ footstep and becoming a soldier. She is now a member of the Rifle Women unit of the Assam Rifles. She served in the volatile North East and is now recently in the J&K. Though she works in the Information Warfare squad but also is equally conversant with active soldiering.

Dear dad, you are an epitome of love and understanding. All sphere of success & strength of my life are your underpinnings. I might not be a good daughter. But I love you so much.

Thank you dad for being my support, my guide my strength, yesterday- today and always. In future I may find my Prince, but my dad you will always be the King. (source for data & photo -internet, whattsapp,fb)
