Former Tripura Chief Minister and CPI-M Politburo member Manik Sarkar has urged the BJP-led state government, now joined by TIPRA Motha, to prioritize clearing the pending dearness allowance (DA) of government employees, citing ample funds under the “triple engine” administration. Sarkar made this appeal on Thursday at a voluntary blood donation camp organized by the CPI-M’s East Agartala Local Committee, marking November Diwas and the party’s 11th Sammelan.

Speaking to reporters at the event held at the CPI-M office in Dhaleshwar, Sarkar expressed his disappointment with the current administration’s allocation of resources. He emphasized that with increased funds now available under the BJP-TIPRA Motha alliance, the DA backlog should be addressed promptly to support state employees.

Sarkar also commended the blood donation drive, in which approximately 40 people participated, highlighting the significance of such initiatives for addressing Tripura’s healthcare needs. “Our party is committed to alleviating the state’s blood shortage throughout the year. This camp is not just about blood collection but also about raising awareness of its crucial impact on saving lives,” he noted.

Other senior CPI-M leaders joined Sarkar in supporting the event, underscoring the party’s dedication to community service. The event served as a platform to advocate for social responsibility, with Sarkar encouraging residents to embrace blood donation as a way to foster a healthier community.
