Aiming to assess progress and address challenges, a state-level review meeting of the Department for Welfare of Scheduled Castes was convened on Friday under the chairmanship of Minister Suddhangshu Das. Officials from all districts attended the meeting held at the Conference Hall of the Tribal Welfare Directorate, emphasizing the importance of efficient implementation.
Minister Das emphasized the necessity of efficient implementation, stating, “The meeting is to review the previous year’s budget allocation and examine whether projects were completed or faced any shortfalls.” He highlighted the focus on ensuring beneficiaries receive the benefits outlined by the Scheduled Caste Welfare Department, including the management and efficacy of SC Hostels and the admission of SC students to state government colleges.
Das also announced a target for the upcoming fiscal year 2024-25 to bolster development initiatives for scheduled caste communities. He stressed the importance of expediting project implementation, especially following delays due to the Lok Sabha elections.
