Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Ashish Kumar Saha ruled out a BJP victory in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, asserting that the I.N.D.I.A bloc is leading the race to form the government. Saha’s statements came during his visit to Belonia on Friday, where he assessed the preparedness for poll counting and interacted with local party workers.
Addressing a press conference, Saha emphasized, “Ground-level reports indicate that the I.N.D.I.A bloc is at the forefront.” He also criticized the BJP’s extensive campaign efforts in West Bengal. “The BJP, worried about their impending loss in Bengal, has deployed leaders, including the Prime Minister and Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, to the state. Despite their efforts, they will fail to retain their seats in Bengal,” Saha asserted.
During his visit, Saha evaluated the readiness for the upcoming vote count, emphasizing the importance of ensuring a peaceful and fair process. “We are closely monitoring preparations to guarantee that the counting proceeds smoothly,” he said.
In addition to focusing on the Lok Sabha elections, Saha discussed the party’s strategies for the impending Panchayat elections in Tripura. “We are mobilizing our party workers across the state and have conducted several block-level meetings to secure a victory in the Panchayat elections,” he added
Saha also criticized the BJP-led government in Tripura, alleging widespread deprivation and a deteriorating law and order situation. “The state is grappling with severe issues, especially in rural areas where basic necessities like drinking water, roads, and electricity are lacking. Moreover, crimes against women have surged under the BJP’s rule,” he charged.
