A two-year-old boy from Madhyam Krishnapur, Radhanagar Gram Panchayat, Rajnagar constituency, has returned to the playground, bringing immense relief and gratitude to his poverty-stricken family. The child’s recovery was made possible thanks to the timely financial assistance provided by Rajya Sabha MP and former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb.
The incident occurred on April 7, when the toddler, playing near his home, accidentally fell into a hot cauldron. He sustained severe burns on his face and other parts of his body. His father, Arjun Tripura, a day laborer struggling to support his family of five, was devastated and helpless as his son squirmed in pain in the hospital. The heart-wrenching story caught the attention of the media and was widely reported in newspapers
The incident garnered media attention, catching the eye of Biplab Kumar Deb. Responding swiftly, Deb dispatched a representative from his office to the hospital, delivering Rs 50,000 to the distressed family. This generous contribution enabled the child to receive the necessary medical care, leading to a full recovery.
“Thanks to Biplab Kumar Deb’s humanitarian assistance, my son is now fully recovered and happily playing again,” expressed Arjun Tripura. Remarkably, a portion of the funds remained unspent, prompting Arjun to make an exemplary decision. With the support of villagers, he invested the remaining money in planting rubber saplings, aiming to secure a better future for his child.
Biplab Kumar Deb’s reputation for humanitarian work is well-established. Recently, he arranged for an artificial leg for a person who had lost his limb in a road accident. His consistent efforts to support those in need have garnered widespread appreciation.
