An Agartala-based short film titled “Deepshikhar Birambana,” produced by SK Production Tripura, has clinched the 5th position among 139 entries at the National Human Rights Short Film Competition held by NHRC at Manav Adhikar Bhawan in New Delhi.The prestigious award was conferred upon the film’s producer, Supriti Ghosh, by Justice Arun Mishra, Chairman of the NHRC.Starring Sharmistha Debnath Baidya in the lead role, the 10-minute film sheds light on the human rights violations experienced by individuals grappling with obesity in our society. The film garnered praise from attendees at the award ceremony for its poignant portrayal of the issue.The music for “Deepshikhar Birambana” was composed by Gourab Roy Barman, with editing and sound mixing handled by Shubhadeep Deb. Chandrashanta Kar served as the cinematographer, while Prashanta Chakraborty provided the subtitles. The screenplay and direction were skillfully executed by Sanjay Kar.
