
As the Election Commission of India (ECI) unveils the schedule for the upcoming democratic exercise, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is seeking to secure victory for Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the forthcoming elections. The ruling party has ramped up its campaigning efforts across Tripura.
Campaign activities are in full swing across Tripura, with the ruling party leaving no stone unturned in its organizational meetings, public gatherings, and door-to-door campaigns to engage with voters.
In the capital city of Tripura, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha chaired a crucial organizational meeting at the Bhagat Singh Youth Hostel, gearing up for the forthcoming elections. State BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee, alongside former Chief Minister and Lok Sabha West Tripura seat candidate Biplab Kumar Deb, cabinet ministers, the Mayor of the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC), presidents of various party frontal organizations, office bearers, and other party workers, actively participated in the meeting.
Addressing the press, State BJP President Rajib Bhattacharjee underscored the significance of the poll dates announced by the ECI, emphasizing the polling date set for April 19 for the West Tripura seat. He announced the nomination of former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb as the party’s candidate for the seat, highlighting the meeting’s objective to secure his victory with a majority of votes.
Furthermore, Bhattacharjee outlined the formation of several election teams tasked with ensuring smooth conduct and advocating for both BJP-backed TIPRA Motha candidate Kriti Singh from the East Tripura seat and Biplab Kumar Deb to reinforce Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.
Responding to reporters’ queries, Bhattacharjee revealed ongoing deliberations on the candidate for the Ramnagar seat by-election, promising an announcement by Thursday. The BJP’s concerted efforts reflect its determination to maintain its political stronghold in Tripura and contribute to the national narrative under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
