Agartala witnessed a commendable collaborative effort between Spandan Social Organization and Tribeni Sangha Club as they jointly organized a free health camp and awareness program aimed at preventing child marriage. The event, held on Sunday, was inaugurated by the Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation, Dipak Majumder, in commemoration of Women’s Day.

Joining Mayor Majumder at the inauguration were notable figures including MLA Mina Rani Sarkar, Councilor Alak Roy, Dr. Heimanti Bhattacharya, Secretary of Spandan, and the Secretary and President of Tribeni Sangha Club. The gathering highlighted the significance of community-driven initiatives in addressing social issues.

In his address, Mayor Dipak Majumdar lauded Spandan for its commitment to social welfare and commended the organization for its impactful work in the community. MLA Mina Rani Sarkar echoed this sentiment, pledging her support to Spandan in its endeavors to serve society.

As part of the initiative, Spandan NGO honored 15 distinguished women for their contributions to society. Additionally, a team of four esteemed doctors from Agartala GB Hospital, led by Dr. Samarjit Bhattacharjee, a member of Spandan NGO, conducted a health camp, providing free treatment and medicines to 300 individuals.

Amidst the health camp, a cultural program added vibrancy to the event, underscoring the importance of holistic community engagement. Golap Kundi, a member of Spandan, emphasized the critical need to combat child marriage, shedding light on the societal implications of this harmful practice.

The collaborative efforts of Spandan Social Organization and Tribeni Sangha Club underscored the power of collective action in addressing pressing social issues. By combining healthcare provision with awareness-raising initiatives, the event exemplified a holistic approach to community development, leaving a positive impact on the attendees and fostering a sense of unity and empowerment within the community.
