In a monumental move towards bolstering development in Tripura, the Ministry of Development of the North Eastern Region (DoNER) has granted approval for a substantial fund of Rs 717 crore to execute five pivotal projects aimed at enhancing the well-being of the state’s residents.
The diverse range of projects includes a generous allocation of Rs 202 crore for the establishment of a state-of-the-art dental college in Agartala, Rs 192 crore for the creation of a 200-bed mother-and-child health wing within the premises of Agartala Government Medical College and GB Pant Hospital, Rs 121 crore for a rehabilitation centre catering to drug addicts at Bishramganj in the Sepahijala district, Rs 80 crore for the installation of a solar microgrid in remote tribal areas, and Rs 122 crore for the development of three rural roads spanning 30 kilometres each.
The injection of funds by the central government is anticipated to play a crucial role in propelling the state’s development agenda forward. Notably, the establishment of the Dental College and the addition of new beds in Agartala Government Medical College and GB Hospital are poised to be transformative breakthroughs in the realm of medical services.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha expressed gratitude on social media for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the DoNER Ministry’s crucial contribution in guiding Tripura towards development.
Dr. Saha, who also serves as the state’s Health Minister, emphasised the transformative impact these projects will have on the medical services landscape, particularly through the establishment of the Dental College and additional beds at Agartala Government Medical College and GB Pant Hospital.
As the Health Minister of the state, Dr. Saha has been unwavering in his dedication to ushering in radical changes to the medical services in Tripura. The allocation of funds towards various initiatives, including healthcare infrastructure, rural connections, and renewable energy solutions, demonstrates the comprehensive strategy employed by the government to cater to the varied requirements of the state’s citizens.
