Tripura has implemented extensive security and administrative arrangements for the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination scheduled on June 21. Around 4,700 candidates will appear across 10 centres under strict surveillance, police deployment, CCTV monitoring, and NTA supervision to ensure transparency, fairness, and smooth conduct of the national entrance examination.
The Tripura government has finalized elaborate security and administrative arrangements for the re-conduct of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2026 examination, scheduled to be held on June 21. The move aims to ensure a smooth, transparent, and fair examination process for thousands of aspiring medical students across the state.
Officials from the Higher Education Department announced the preparations during a press conference on Friday, highlighting the coordinated efforts undertaken by the state administration in collaboration with the National Testing Agency (NTA), district authorities, Tripura Police, and other concerned agencies.
Higher Education Department Secretary and State Nodal Officer for NEET-UG 2026, Raval Hemendra Kumar, stated that both the State Level Coordination Committee (SLCC) and District Level Coordination Committees (DLCCs) have been constituted as per NTA guidelines. These committees will oversee and monitor all examination-related activities to ensure seamless coordination among departments.
According to official estimates, approximately 4,500 candidates are expected to appear for the examination in West Tripura district, while nearly 200 candidates will take the test in Dhalai district. To accommodate the candidates, the government has identified a total of 10 examination centres across the state, including nine centres in West Tripura and one centre in Dhalai.
Kumar emphasized that comprehensive security arrangements have been put in place at all examination venues. These measures include deployment of adequate police personnel, multi-level frisking of candidates before entry, CCTV surveillance systems, and constant monitoring by NTA-appointed observers and flying squads.
In addition, advanced security measures such as the installation of signal jammers and secure transportation and handling of confidential examination materials have been arranged to prevent any possibility of malpractice or unauthorized communication during the examination.
To strengthen administrative support, nodal officers have been assigned to each examination centre. These officers will coordinate with local authorities and provide immediate assistance whenever required. Officials from the district administration, police department, National Informatics Centre (NIC), centre superintendents, and NTA representatives are working jointly to ensure that the examination is conducted without any disruptions.
The state government has also issued advisories for candidates and their guardians. Aspirants have been urged to reach their designated examination centres well before the reporting time specified in their admit cards and strictly follow all guidelines issued by the NTA. Guardians have been requested to cooperate with authorities and avoid gathering near examination venues to facilitate smooth movement and security management.
Officials reiterated that maintaining the integrity of the examination remains the government’s top priority. With multiple layers of security and coordination mechanisms in place, the administration aims to provide a safe and transparent environment for all candidates appearing in the highly competitive medical entrance examination.
