Tripura Gramin Bank reports strong FY26 results with 9% growth, zero NPAs, rising profits, and expanded rural lending. The bank strengthens financial inclusion, digital services, and agricultural credit, driving economic development and self-reliance across Tripura.

Tripura’s rural banking landscape has received a significant boost as Tripura Gramin Bank (TGB) announced strong financial results for the fiscal year 2025–26, reflecting sustained growth, improved asset quality, and a deepening commitment to financial inclusion across the state.

At a press conference held on Saturday, Chairman Satyendra Singh outlined the bank’s performance, attributing the success to customer trust, technological adaptation, and a diversified lending strategy. He emphasized that with a Capital to Risk-weighted Assets Ratio (CRAR) of 28.58% and zero Net Non-Performing Assets (NPAs), the bank is entering the new fiscal year with strong financial resilience and expansion capacity.

The bank’s total business reached Rs. 15,422 crore, registering a year-on-year growth of 9.49%. Deposits rose to Rs. 10,889 crore, pushing the credit-deposit ratio up to 41.62% from 39.93% in the previous year. Profitability showed remarkable improvement, with operating profit standing at Rs. 236.10 crore, while net profit surged by 76.19% to Rs. 184.84 crore.

Loan disbursements during the year amounted to Rs. 2,854.71 crore, supporting various sectors of the economy. Asset quality also strengthened, with gross NPAs reduced to 2.89% and net NPAs remaining at zero, underscoring prudent risk management practices.

From humble beginnings in 1976 with just four branches and a business volume of Rs. 4.52 lakh, the bank has expanded significantly. It now operates 150 branches and 12 ultra-small branches, covering all eight districts of Tripura. Operational efficiency indicators remain strong, with per-branch business reaching Rs. 102.81 crore and per-employee business at Rs. 17.77 crore.

A major focus area for the bank has been rural and priority sector lending. Advances to the agriculture and allied sectors stood at Rs. 1,119.05 crore, accounting for 24.69% of total lending. Priority sector lending reached Rs. 3,499.81 crore, or 77.22% of total advances. The bank issued 29,661 Kisan Credit Cards worth Rs. 125.56 crore and financed 16,360 Self Help Groups with Rs. 722.35 crore. Additionally, over 12,500 Mudra loans were sanctioned, totaling Rs. 229.99 crore.

Government-backed schemes such as PMEGP, Swablamban, and PM SVANidhi played a key role in promoting entrepreneurship and small businesses. Infrastructure development also saw progress, with 43 ATMs and 487 Business Correspondent outlets, including 148 BC Sakhis, extending banking services to remote areas.

Housing and education financing remained steady, with housing loans sanctioned to 1,101 accounts worth Rs. 260.64 crore, while education loans totaled Rs. 4.58 crore. The bank also advanced its digital initiatives, introducing e-Bank Guarantees, co-branded credit cards in collaboration with Punjab National Bank, upgraded mobile banking platforms, e-lobbies, and enhanced data security through Aadhaar Data Vault systems.

It also achieved top ranking among Regional Rural Banks in Atal Pension campaigns and received the SKOCH Award 2025 along with other recognitions.

Looking ahead, the bank plans to strengthen digital banking, expand credit to agriculture and MSMEs, and intensify financial literacy programs. Leadership reaffirmed its commitment to supporting farmers, women, youth, and small entrepreneurs while contributing to the vision of a self-reliant and economically developed Tripura.
