Tripura Cabinet approves 107 new posts, boosts recruitment, enhances World War II widows’ allowance, and introduces financial assistance for children of CAPF martyrs, strengthening employment opportunities and expanding welfare measures across multiple state government departments.

A set of administrative and welfare decisions taken at a recent cabinet meeting is expected to strengthen both public service delivery and social support systems in Tripura. The state government has approved the creation and filling of 107 posts across multiple departments, alongside enhanced financial benefits for vulnerable groups and families of personnel who died in service.

The decisions were finalized during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Manik Saha. Briefing the media afterward, cabinet spokesperson and Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury highlighted that the measures combine employment generation with welfare expansion.

Among the key decisions, the cabinet approved filling 15 vacancies in the Election Department. These include 11 posts of Lower Division Clerk (LDC) under Group C and four Multi-Tasking Staff positions under Group D. Of the LDC positions, six will be filled through direct recruitment, while five will be filled through promotion. All Group D posts will be filled through direct recruitment, providing fresh employment opportunities.

In a move aimed at recognizing historical contributions and supporting surviving families, the cabinet approved an increase in the monthly maintenance allowance for widows of World War II veterans. The allowance has been raised from ₹10,000 to ₹15,000 for 12 beneficiaries. Officials noted that the last revision of this allowance was made in 2019, making this enhancement a significant step in addressing inflation and cost-of-living concerns.

Another major welfare initiative targets families of fallen personnel from the Central Armed Police Forces. The cabinet approved a monthly assistance of ₹2,000 for unmarried dependent sons and daughters above the age of 18 whose parents died while serving the nation. The benefit will be limited to one eligible member per family, ensuring focused financial support where it is most needed.

The cabinet also addressed staffing requirements in critical departments. Approval was granted to fill four vacant pharmacist (allopathy) posts under the Jail Department, which is expected to improve healthcare services within correctional facilities.

Further strengthening administrative capacity, 43 Group C technical posts were created in the Printing and Stationery Department under the General Administration Department. Recruitment for these roles will be conducted through the Joint Recruitment Board of Tripura, with eligibility criteria set at Madhyamik pass along with relevant certification.

Additionally, 50 posts of Senior Computer Assistant were created under the Directorate of Treasuries and Accounts in the Finance Department. These Group C non-gazetted positions will be filled through the Tripura Public Service Commission, enhancing digital and financial management capabilities within the state administration.

Overall, the cabinet’s approval of 107 posts reflects a balanced approach toward governance, combining job creation, administrative efficiency, and targeted welfare measures. The decisions are expected to have a positive impact on employment opportunities while also extending support to families who have contributed to national service.
