Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu reviews border security in Boxanagar, inspects unfenced Indo-Bangladesh stretches, interacts with residents, evaluates welfare scheme delivery, and holds discussions with BSF officials on border management.

Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu on Friday undertook a comprehensive day-long visit to Boxanagar to assess the prevailing situation in the region and review security and administrative arrangements along unfenced stretches of the Indo-Bangladesh international border.

The Governor began his official tour around 10:30 am by attending a public programme organised by the Boxanagar block administration at the Dayalpara Jharajala School ground. The event witnessed the presence of several senior officials, elected representatives, and local residents, highlighting the importance of direct administrative engagement in sensitive border areas.

Among those present were Sepahijala District Magistrate Dr Siddharth Jaiswal, Superintendent of Police Bijoy Debbarma, Boxanagar MLA Tofajjal Hossain, along with senior officers from various civil departments and local administrative units.

Delivering the welcome address, District Magistrate Dr Siddharth Jaiswal outlined the functioning and achievements of departments operating under the Sonamura subdivision. He briefed the Governor on law and order conditions, development initiatives, welfare delivery mechanisms, and challenges unique to border villages, particularly those located along unfenced stretches of the international boundary.

Addressing the gathering, local MLA Tofajjal Hossain drew attention to the ground realities faced by residents living near the border. He spoke about infrastructure gaps, livelihood concerns, security issues, and the need for sustained government attention to ensure inclusive development and safety for people residing in vulnerable locations.

In his address, Governor Nallu said that the primary objective of his visit was to directly interact with residents of unfenced border areas and gain first-hand knowledge of their concerns. He emphasized that understanding local realities is essential for effective governance, particularly in regions that are strategically sensitive and socially diverse.

The Governor interacted with villagers and community representatives to assess the reach and effectiveness of various state and central government welfare schemes. He sought feedback on whether benefits related to health, education, housing, food security, and social welfare were reaching intended beneficiaries without delay or exclusion.

Governor Nallu instructed concerned officials to ensure timely delivery of all government benefits and facilities. He stressed the importance of transparency, accountability, and regular monitoring to ensure that people from all sections of society, especially those living in border areas, are adequately covered under welfare programmes.

The Governor appreciated the role of the Border Security Force in maintaining vigilance and safeguarding national interests while also emphasizing the need for coordination between civil administration and security agencies. The visit underscored the government’s focus on strengthening border management, improving governance, and ensuring welfare outreach in remote and sensitive regions of Tripura.
