
Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury spearheaded a pivotal meeting on Monday at the secretariat. The gathering aimed to swiftly tackle the challenges encountered on Sunday.
Eminent figures from various administrative spheres, including representatives from the vehicle drivers’ community and the Labor Union, actively engaged in an extensive dialogue during the session.
Minister Chowdhury underscored the administration’s unwavering commitment to taking stringent measures against any incidents impeding passenger convenience. He emphasized a zero-tolerance policy towards sudden road blockades and traffic disruptions, stressing the paramount importance of considering passengers’ interests.
The minister advocated for constructive dialogue as the preferred approach for issue resolution, urging all relevant parties to engage with authorities. Additionally, he issued a stern warning to individuals involved in disruptive activities, cautioning them that their actions were easily identifiable.
Chowdhury earnestly appealed for cooperation from all stakeholders, reiterating the government’s steadfast dedication to prioritizing the welfare of workers.
Key figures present at the meeting included Tripura Road Transport Corporation Chairman Balai Goswami, Transport Department Secretary Uttam Kumar Chakma, Transport Department Commissioner Uttam Mandal, Additional Secretary Subrata Chowdhury, SDM Manik Lal Das, West District Superintendent of Police Kiran Kumar K, and Traffic Superintendent of Police Manik Das, alongside representatives from the motorist community.
