
Arunachal Budget 2025-26 has 11.16% increase over previous FY

Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Chowna Mein presented the state’s annual budget for the financial year 2025-26, totalling around 39,842 crore rupees, with a fiscal deficit of around 966.5 crore rupees in the state Assembly today. This marks an 11.16% increase over the previous year.
Revenue receipts are estimated at ₹34,544.07 crore, with the state’s share of central taxes rising 16.61% to ₹24,992.35 crore. The government projects its own tax and non-tax revenue at ₹4,607.72 crore, a 15% increase. The fiscal deficit is pegged at 2.02% of GSDP.
Mr. Mein said that the budget is prepared with a vision of “Viksit Arunachal” with zero poverty, quality education, comprehensive healthcare, skilled employment, and strong economic participation of women and farmers. He said the budget is based on four pillars: Investing in People, Infrastructure, Economy, and Innovation.
Key allocations include ₹3,000 crore for education, ₹369 crore for health, ₹1,112 crore for agriculture, ₹462 crore for Mission Antyodaya, ₹106 crore for skill development, ₹120 crore for youth & sports, and ₹60 crore for indigenous affairs.
A new initiative, ‘Chief Minister Comprehensive State Rural Road Development Scheme,’ was also announced with a fund allocation of ₹500 crore.
