Rahul Gandhi renews his “vote theft” allegations against the BJP, accusing the ruling party of large-scale electoral fraud in Haryana and other states. He vows to release more evidence proving how mandates were “stolen” during recent elections.

Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has once again accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of orchestrating large-scale “vote theft” during the Haryana Assembly elections, alleging that the ruling party has manipulated the democratic process across several Indian states. Gandhi, in a fresh statement to IANS on Friday, said he would continue to release “irrefutable evidence” proving how the BJP “stole mandates” and compromised the sanctity of elections.

Reiterating his stance, Gandhi said that both the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the BJP have “failed to respond” to his serious allegations of electoral fraud. “I demonstrated in my presentation that the Haryana elections were not elections in the true sense. There was wholesale theft of votes,” Gandhi asserted, adding that “not a single claim” he made had been officially denied.

According to the Congress leader, the evidence he presented included instances of fake voter IDs, duplicate photographs, and even impersonation of real voters—with one example showing a woman’s identity being matched to that of a Brazilian national. “The media has highlighted small aspects, but the larger picture is being ignored. The reality is that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, and the Election Commission are systematically attacking the Constitution of India,” he said.

Gandhi emphasized that the constitutional principle of ‘one person, one vote’ has been violated, particularly in Haryana, where cases of multiple voting under a single identity were detected. “One woman was shown voting multiple times. Even a Brazilian woman’s identity was used to cast a vote. What could be more shocking?” he asked.

The Congress MP further alleged that similar electoral malpractices were being replicated in other states, including Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Gujarat, accusing the BJP of normalizing vote manipulation as a political strategy. “They did the same thing in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. In Gujarat, it has become a normal practice,” he claimed.

Promise of More Proof

Gandhi declared that this was “only the beginning” and promised to make additional disclosures in the coming weeks. “The process is ongoing. Narendra Modi became PM through vote theft — and soon there will be no doubt in people’s minds,” he stated.

He claimed to have “volumes of material” that would expose how, in his view, electoral fraud has been institutionalized. “I will continue to reveal the evidence. We will clearly show India’s Gen Z and youth how the BJP steals elections. There will be no doubts left,” Gandhi told the news agency.

BJP and EC Yet to Respond

While the BJP has not yet issued an official rebuttal to Gandhi’s latest claims, senior party leaders have previously dismissed his allegations as “baseless and politically motivated.” The Election Commission, too, has maintained silence on the specific points raised by Gandhi in his earlier press conference, drawing criticism from Congress leaders and opposition parties.

Political analysts say Gandhi’s renewed offensive comes at a time when the Congress is seeking to rebuild its credibility among young and first-time voters. By raising the issue of “vote theft,” he appears to be positioning himself as a defender of democratic values, contrasting his narrative with what he describes as the BJP’s “authoritarian approach.”

Congress Intensifies Campaign on Electoral Integrity

The Congress party is expected to launch a nationwide awareness campaign highlighting Gandhi’s findings on alleged voting irregularities. Party insiders say the campaign will target youth and first-time voters, encouraging them to demand transparency from the Election Commission and other authorities.

A senior Congress strategist said, “Rahul Gandhi’s revelations are part of a broader effort to challenge the legitimacy of manipulated elections. We believe that democracy is under attack, and it’s time to bring this issue into public focus.”

A Political Flashpoint Ahead

The renewed allegations could intensify political tensions in the run-up to upcoming state elections and the 2029 general election. The issue of electoral integrity has long been a sensitive topic in Indian politics, and Gandhi’s claims, if substantiated, could spark one of the most serious debates over the credibility of India’s democratic institutions in recent years.

For now, all eyes are on Rahul Gandhi’s promised “next set of disclosures,” which he says will leave “no room for denial” about how elections have been allegedly manipulated in India’s recent political history.
