PM Modi and HM Amit Shah lead BJP’s massive Bengal campaign push, targeting law and order, infiltration issues, and strengthening party presence ahead of crucial West Bengal Assembly elections.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled an extensive list of star campaigners for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections, signaling an aggressive and high-stakes electoral strategy. The list is led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, highlighting the party’s focus on consolidating its presence in the politically crucial state.
According to the official announcement, BJP’s national leadership and key political figures will actively campaign across West Bengal. The list includes party president J.P. Nadda, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Union Ministers such as Nitin Gadkari and Dharmendra Pradhan. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is also among the prominent campaigners expected to draw large crowds.
The campaign roster further features a mix of political heavyweights and public figures, including actor-turned-politician Mithun Chakraborty, tennis icon Leander Paes, and BJP leaders such as Smriti Irani and Kangana Ranaut. Several chief ministers from BJP-ruled states, including Himanta Biswa Sarma, Devendra Fadnavis, Mohan Charan Majhi, and Manik Saha, will also participate in the campaign efforts.
State-level leaders such as Suvendu Adhikari, Dilip Ghosh, and Sukanta Majumdar have also been tasked with mobilizing grassroots support and strengthening the party’s organizational structure in the region.

The announcement coincided with Prime Minister Modi’s rally in Cooch Behar, marking his first public meeting in the state since the election dates were announced on March 15. Addressing a large gathering, Modi launched a sharp attack on the ruling Trinamool Congress government led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
He raised concerns over the recent incident in Malda, where judicial officers were reportedly held hostage in Kaliachak. Modi described the situation as alarming and claimed that even the Supreme Court of India has questioned the state’s law and order scenario.
“There is not a single constitutional body in West Bengal that has not faced challenges,” Modi said, promising strict accountability after the elections. He also accused the state government of allegedly providing shelter to illegal infiltrators, asserting that the BJP is committed to addressing the issue decisively.
