In Bihar hectic political activities gaining pace to form a new government in the state. Nitish Kumar unanimously elected leader of grand alliance comprising JD( U),RJD and Congress. This decision was taken at joint meeting of RJD, JD(U), and Congress.
In a short while ago, Nitish Kumar and Tejaswi Prasad Yadav reached governor’s house to meet governor Phagu Chauhan to stake a claim for the formation of a new government in the state. Earlier today, Nitish submitted his resignation from the post of Chief Minister to Governor.
Earlier, Janta Dal (United) snapped its ties with the BJP paving the way for formation of a new government with the support of RJD and Congress. The RJD and Congress have submitted letter of support to Nitish Kumar to form the government. Nitish Kumar also met Rabari Devi to chalk out a strategy.
The decision to part ways with BJP was taken at the JD (U)’s Legislators Party meeting which was chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar this morning.
Congress and Left parties have already submitted the letter of support to senior RJD leader Tejaswi Prasad Yadav to form a grand alliance government.
The JD(U) and RJD had called their legistors’ meeting this morning to chalk out the strategy to resolve the situation arising in the wake of former JD(U) National President RCP Singh’s resignation from the party.
Hindustani Awam Morcha( HAM) also decided to extend unconditional support to Nitish Kumar. This decision was taken at party legislators meeting which was chaired by Jitan Ram Manjhi.
State Unit of BJP has accused Nitish Kumar of betraying people of the state. Addressing a press conference in Patna, Bihar BJP chief Sanjay Jaiswal said the people of Bihar will “never forgive” Nitish Kumar. He said the party fought the 2020 polls together under NDA, the mandate was for JD-U and BJP, we won more seats despite that, Nitish Kumar was made the CM. Whatever happened today is a betrayal of the people of the state & the BJP.
In 243-member Bihar Assembly, number of MLAs of RJD is 79 and that of BJP is 77, JD(U) has 45, Congress has 19, Left parties have 16 while Hindustani Awam Morcha has four members.
