NCC Police Station busts motorcycle theft gang in West Tripura, recovers eight stolen bikes and traces 13 lost mobile phones using CEIR portal. Arrested accused sent to judicial custody; recovered items returned to rightful owners after legal procedures.
The NCC Police Station in West Tripura successfully dismantled a motorcycle theft gang and recovered eight stolen motorcycles along with 13 missing mobile phones. The recovered items were officially handed over to their rightful owners on Thursday after the completion of necessary legal procedures.
Addressing media persons, West Tripura Superintendent of Police Ramit Pathak confirmed that the arrested members of the gang have been sent to judicial custody. He described the operation as part of an intensified crackdown on property-related crimes in the region.
According to SP Pathak, the stolen motorcycles were recovered during recent police operations conducted based on specific intelligence inputs. The police launched coordinated raids to trace the suspects and seize the stolen vehicles. The swift action ensured that the gang’s activities were curtailed before further theft incidents could take place.
In addition to the motorcycles, 13 missing mobile phones were successfully traced using the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal. The CEIR system plays a crucial role in tracking and blocking lost or stolen mobile devices across India, significantly aiding law enforcement agencies in recovering stolen property.

Police officials have urged citizens to remain vigilant and promptly report any theft or suspicious activity to help maintain law and order in the district.
