In IPL Cricket, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Lucknow Super Giants in a super over thriller after the match ended in a tie at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow last night. Chasing a target of 156 runs set by the Kolkata Knight Riders, Lucknow Super Giants made 155/8 in the stipulated 20 overs.
 
In the super over that followed, Lucknow Super Giants scored 1 run with the loss of 2 wickets. Kolkata Knight Riders were required to score 2 runs to win in 6 balls. Rinku Singh drove the first ball of the over to the fence, scoring four runs, and sealed the match in favour of the Kolkata Knight Riders. Rinku Singh was adjudged Player of the Match.
 
In the first match of the day, Gujarat Titans registered an eight-wicket victory over hosts Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Chasing a target of 159, Gujarat Titans reached 162 for two in 16.4 overs, guided by Sai Sudharsan’s 87-run knock. For the Chennai Super Kings, Noor Ahmad and Akeal Hosein took one wicket each.
 
Earlier, put in to bat, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad scored an unbeaten 74 to steer Chennai Super Kings to 158 for seven in the stipulated 20 overs. He faced 60 balls and hit six fours and four sixes, while Jamie Overton added a quick 18 off six balls. For the Gujarat Titans, Kagiso Rabada picked up three wickets and Arshad Khan claimed two. Today, Delhi Capitals will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. The match will start at 7.30 PM.
