In IPL Cricket, hosts Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) by 29 runs at Eden Gardens in Kolkata last night, to keep their playoff hopes alive. Chasing a target of 248 runs, Gujarat Titans made 218 runs for the loss of four wickets in the stipulated twenty overs. For Gujarat Titans, skipper Shubman Gill with 85 runs was the top scorer while Sai Sudharsan made unbeaten 53 runs and Jos Buttler scored 57 runs.
For Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunil Narine took two wickets while Saurabh Dubey and Cameron Green claimed a wicket each. Sunil Narine was declared Player of the Match. Earlier, put in to bat, Kolkata Knight Riders posted a mammoth score of 247 runs for the loss of two wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Opener Finn Allen smashed a stunning 93 runs, while Angkrish Raghuvanshi hammered 82 runs and Cameron Green made 52 runs.
Earlier, Gujarat Titans won the toss and elected to field. The victory prevents Gujarat Titans from sealing their playoffs qualification. In today’s fixture, Punjab Kings will take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:30 PM. In another match, Delhi Capitals will face Rajasthan Royals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The match will begin at 7:30 PM.
