Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma on Saturday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in New Delhi. They discussed various issues pertaining to the state’s development, especially rural development and financial matters as well.
Dev Varma in a his social media handle said that he had presented a folder highlighting the bio village pilot project of Bio Tech Council to the Prime Minister during his meeting. The Deputy Chief Minister also presented the TREDA works of lighting up remote village markets, solar irrigation pumps in remote areas and solar micro grids in remote tribal areas.
In a social media post, the Deputy Chief Minister wrote that the Prime Minister had appreciated the last man delivery efforts made by the Tripura government.
The Deputy Chief Minister also apprised the Prime Minister of the on going infrastructure development projects as well as the projects that had already been completed. Both also discussed rural development matters for expediting the development of rural areas especially the remote tribal areas which had been neglected during the Left rule. The Deputy Chief Minister, who is also the Finance Minister of the state, requested the Prime Minister to help send central assistance to the state for extension of infrastructures.
He also sought empowerment of TTAADC and highlighted the cabinet decisions taken by the BJP-IPFT government apart from discussing rural connectivity and finance issues. Meantime, the meeting of Deputy Chief Minister with the Prime Minister triggered political speculations in view of the state BJP’ internal power equations.
