In Telangana, all arrangements are in place for smooth conduct of prayers in the state on Eid-ul-Adha today. Hyderabad city police imposed traffic diversions and restrictions in various parts of the city, especially around the Mir Alam Tank Eidgah and other areas, due to large gatherings expected for Bakrid prayers.
Akashvani’s Correspondent reports that with Eid-ul-Adha, known as Bakrid, being celebrated with great enthusiasm and tradition across Telangana state today, Hyderabad police have imposed several traffic restrictions and diversions to ensure smooth conduct of prayers later this morning.
The festival of sacrifice is being observed on the 10th day of the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah. The faithful hold major prayer congregations at Mir Alam Eidgah and Masab Tank hockey ground beside dozens of other Eidgahs and Masjids in Hyderabad.
Special ‘Takbir’ prayers are being held wherein verses from the Quran are being recited in communion. As part of the rituals of Bakrid, many offer ‘qurbani’ of cattle to echo Ibrahim’s sacrifice and also distribute portions of meat to the poor and needy. State Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy besides eminent personalities extended greetings to the people on the occasion.
Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan has extended warm greetings to the people on the occasion of Eid al-Adha. In his message, Governor Radhakrishnan said the festival conveys the spirit of sacrifice, compassion, and charity. He wished happiness, peace, harmony, and prosperity to all on the occasion.
Eid-ul-Adha is being celebrated across Jammu and Kashmir with religious fervour and enthusiasm. Since early morning, lakhs of devotees are offering special Eid prayers at mosques and Eidgahs, followed by sermons highlighting the values of sacrifice, obedience, and compassion.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah have extended greetings to the people on the occasion. In his message, Lieutenant Governor Sinha called for strengthening the foundations of unity, harmony, and brotherhood in the society and working with love and compassion to ensure the well-being of all. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also conveyed his wishes, stating that the festival inspires values of honesty, truthfulness, and selflessness.
Ahead of Eid ul-Adha, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to ensure that animal sacrifices are carried out only at designated locations and that the slaughter of prohibited animals is strictly banned.
The Chief Minister also emphasized that prayers should be offered only at traditional places, and no new locations should be permitted for the occasion. To ensure a peaceful and safe celebration across the state, Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police Rajeev Krishna has issued detailed instructions to law enforcement agencies.
Meanwhile, President of the Islamic Center of India Maulana Khalid Rashid Farangi Mahali issued a set of guidelines for the festival and urged the community to adhere to them in the spirit of harmony and discipline.
