Mumbai: Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB), the Indian bottling unit of Coca-Cola, has committed to investing Rs 3,000 crore in Gujarat.

HCCB aims to set up a plant in Rajkot for the production of juices and carbonated beverages, with operations slated to commence in 2026, according to the companys statement.

This new project, in addition to HCCBs existing facilities in Goblej and Sanand, is projected to increase the companys workforce in Gujarat to over 1,500 employees.

HCCB also disclosed that it has 285 distributors and an extensive network of more than 224,000 retailers in the state.

It is not only about scaling our business operations but also about deepening our roots in a state that has been a key market and a source of inspiration for innovation. We foresee this project as a catalyst for regional development, bringing in new opportunities for local talent and reinforcing our commitment to Gujarats economic and social progress, said Himanshu Priyadarshi, Chief Public Affairs, Communications, and Sustainability Officer at HCCB.

This investment is expected to create a significant industrial footprint, fostering considerable economic and social development in the region.

In response, the Gujarat government has assured full support to assist HCCB in expeditiously obtaining all necessary permissions, registrations, approvals, and clearances in accordance with the states policies and regulations.

Managing 16 factories across India, the company reported a substantial growth of 41.51 percent in its operational revenue, amounting to Rs 12,735.12 crore for the same fiscal year, according to a filing submitted to the Registrar of Companies.
